FAQ

Q: At what age should my children first see a dentist?

A: Believe it or not, children should have their first dental visit about six months after their primary teeth have erupted, or generally around their first birthday. First of all, this provides the dental professional an opportunity to spot and prevent any potential oral health/dental problems. It also gives the child a positive, non-threatening dental office experience.

Q: Do you accept referrals?

A: We are happy to accept referrals from other dental offices as well as from recommendations by our patients to their family and friends. Your referrals are our best compliments! We are always accepting new patients.

Q: What do I do if I have an emergency when the office is closed?

A: Please call our office at 509-747-7166 and follow the instructions on the voicemail. Your call will be returned as soon as possible.

Q: What are some things considered dental emergencies?

A:

  • Swellings from infected teeth.

  • Trauma- tooth came out or is knocked out of place.  Place tooth into glass of milk and call right away.

  • Cracked tooth- major crack that is causing pain to biting and temperature.  If it is only a piece of tooth and is not causing pain, it can wait until the next business day.

  • Severe pain that cannot be managed with over-the counter medications.

Q: I have a temporary crown in my mouth. What happens if it comes off or breaks?

A: If your temporary crown comes off or breaks, carefully wrap up the piece(s), place it into a protective container, and call our office to schedule an appointment for us to re-apply it as soon as possible. If the temporary crown is intact, place a little Vaseline onto the temporary and gently bite back into position. This will often hold the temporary in place until you can get back into our office. Drug stores also sell temporary cement that you may place into the crown.
